RD Session Host Configuration is used to set Remote Control settings on a per-server basis.On a server, open RD Session Host Configuration, double-click the RDP-Tcp connection, and then click the Remote Control tab.

There are two ways to enable remote control.

  • Enable remote control and use the Remote Control settings set in each user's accountproperties to specify whether shadowing that user's session is allowed, whether theuser's permission is required, and the level of control (view only or interact) permitted when shadowing the session.

You can disable remote control of user sessions created on the server by choosing Do Not Allow Remote Control.

By default, only administrators have the right to shadow sessions. To give another user oruser group permissions to shadow sessions, follow these steps.

  2. Navigate to the Security tab and click OK to the warning that pops up telling you tomodify the Remote Desktop Sessions group. Then click Advanced.
  3. Add the user account or the user group whose sessions you would like to be able toshadow by clicking Add and entering the name of the user or group. Then click OK.
  4. In the Permissions Entry For RDP-Tcp dialog box, select the Remote Control check box.
  5. Then click OK in each of the three dialog boxes that are open to save the changes.
